[Intended use]
Used for collection of secretions and blood samples of colony animals in breeding farms
[Main components]
4 sterilized cotton swabs, sampling solution (2-5ml), preservation solution B (1-3ml), 1 set of disposable gloves, and 1 set of 2ml blood collector
[Storage Conditions and Expiry date]
Dark, sealed storage, valid for 3 months.
[Usage]
1. Before opening the outer package, please wear disposable latex gloves with both hands to prevent cross infection.
2. Oral and nasal fluid, anal swabs and blood swabs of animals were collected.
All cotton swabs (except blood swab collection) should be moistened with sample solution, and excess sample solution should be emptied and stored in an empty frozen tube for later use.
A. A sterile cotton swab was taken out and the oral fluid of the animal was collected. After the collection, the excess wood rod was broken off and only the cotton swab head was put into A 5ml empty cryogenic storage tube.
B. A cotton swab was taken out aseptically, and the nasal secretions of the animal were collected. After the collection, the excess wood was broken off, and only the cotton swab head was put into a 5ml empty cryogenic storage tube.
C. Take out a cotton swab aseptically, insert the front end into the rectum about 3cm, rotate it left and right for several times, break off the excess wood rod after collection, and only put the cotton swab head into 5ml empty freezing tube.
D. Blood swab collection: briefly prick the bleeding at the root vein of the pig tail with a syringe, remove clean cotton swabs (no need to wet them with sampling solution), and collect blood samples. After the collection, break off the excess sticks, and put only the tip of cotton swabs into a ziplocked bag without adding preservation solution.
3. Pour the preservation liquid into the freeze tube containing the cotton swab, tighten the cap, and shake it several times until the preservation liquid fully contacts the cotton swab.
4. Please send the sample to a professional laboratory within 72 hours from the time of sampling for pathogen detection according to the procedures of oral fluid treatment.
